Local Place Plan - developing the themes

The development of the Local Place Plan is now moving on to the next stage. The community engagement process over the last few months has helped us to identify five key themes for the Local Place Plan:

1.      Work and Opportunity Theme discussing enterprise, employment and tourism.

2.      Connectivity Theme discussing road transport (inc. safer roads and road repairs), active travel (i.e. walking and cycling routes) and broadband connections

3.      Play and Leisure Theme discussing park areas, music theatre and festivals and the use of natural assets.

4.      Environment Theme discussing routes and paths (access to countryside), flood prevention and biodiversity.

5.       Quality of Life theme discussing housing, connections between villages and health and wellbeing.

The next stage of the process is to look at the components of these themes in greater detail. A series of meetings has been organised for the people, groups and businesses of Auchtermuchty, Strathmiglo, Gateside and Dunshalt to come together to hear presentations, meet officials discuss specific project ideas.

The attached poster gives details of these meetings. Please feel free to share with your friends, families, neighbours and businesses in the area.

Anybody from any of the communities can go to any of the events. It’s not confined to the meeting in your community. Please come and contribute to the conversation so that the ideas that come from this truly reflect the needs and wants of our communities.
