Pension Credit

Fife Council has been running a major campaign to make sure that the people of Fife are aware of all the services and support available to help them through the current cost of living crisis.

The Council has launched a mini-campaign, aimed at those over 67, encouraging them to apply for Pension Credit.

There is an estimated £10m of unclaimed benefit in Fife and the Council wants to make sure everyone gets what they are entitled to.

Many Fifers are entitled to Pension Credit but they have to apply for it and, if they do that before 19 December, they may also get a one-off cost of living payment of over £300.

Those on Pension Credit can access other benefits which may include:

  • access to NHS dental treatment, glasses

  • help with heating costs

  • assistance with transport costs for hospital appointments

  • free TV licence, if aged over 75.

Don't miss out - find out if you qualify by visiting the Scottish Government's Pension Credit calculator page.
