M90 overnight traffic diversion through Gateside

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential vehicle restraint system (VRS) improvements on the central reserve of the M90 approx 4km south of junction 9 at the Dron bends. The works are currently programmed to start Sunday the 15th October and is estimated to last approximately 5-6 weeks. Works will take place between the hours of 8pm and 6:30am and works will take place each week from Sunday to Thursday.

The proposed traffic management consists of a full road closure in the northbound direction with an offside lane closure only in the southbound direction. The proposed diversion route is as follows - Northbound traffic leaves the M90 at Junction 8 and joins the A91 until reaching the junction with the A912 at Gateside. Traffic turns left into the A912 and follows this road up to the priority junction where the B996 becomes the A912. The diversion then follows the A912 for a further 6km, before being able to re-join the M90 at Junction 9.

M90 roadworks and diversion

The closure will be required for the full duration of the works but will only be in place during working hours only- all traffic management will be removed during the day.
