Fife Outdoor Tourism Infrastructure Programme information briefing

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust are involved in a programme of works aimed at improving visitor experience in Fife while reducing the impact of visitor numbers on local communities and facilities, and creating a more collaborative and sustainable approach to infrastructure provision and long-term maintenance of local facilities for the benefit of communities.

£375,000 was awarded towards Fife Outdoor Tourism Infrastructure Programme (FOTIP) which is a partnership project between Fife Council and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. Within this project Fife Coast and Countryside Trust aim to provide a high quality and unified visitor experience whilst addressing the individual needs of local communities. Priorities include improving visitor services and facilities, engaging with communities, mitigating against environmental damage, and facilitating more sustainable site management.

Part of this project involves work in the following localities; Elie, Pittenweem, Lower Largo, Kinghorn, Kingsbarns, Limekilns, North Queensferry and the Lomond Hills Regional Park. The Trust is also holding two online information sessions regarding the works we are doing as part of the FOTIP and warmly welcome you to join us. Sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams on:

  • Wednesday 3rd August 1400-1500

  • Monday 22nd August 1900 – 2000

Sessions will include a brief presentation of current and planned works across Fife (including projects at: Elie, Pittenweem, Lower largo, Pettycur Bay, Kingsbarns beach, North Queensferry Battery Rd car park, Limekilns promenade, East Lomond car park, Craigmead Car park, Glen Vale, Birnie & Gaddon Lochs, Fife Coastal Path) followed by an opportunity to ask questions.

If you would like to attend please join the Countryside Trust via the link’s below (please be sure to click the right link to attend on the day!) and feel free to share this with anyone else who may wish to attend. It would however be helpful to know how many people we are expecting to join us for these online sessions so please let Sarah-Jane Latto know if you plan on attending.
