Overnight roadworks on A92

Fife Council has announced that Amey is carrying out overnight surfacing improvements to a section of the A92 in north east Fife from Monday 16th January until Friday 27th January.

The resurfacing, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will benefit more than 7,400 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures each weeknight between 7.30pm and 6.30am. There will also be the need for daytime temporary traffic lights (TTLs) for the cooling of deeper sections of treatment.

The road will be open as normal over the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January.

  • Overnight road closures from Monday 16th to Friday 20th January (ending 6:30am on Saturday 21st)with daytime TTLs on Tues/Wed/Thurs.

  • Overnight road closures from Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th January (ending 6:30am on Friday 27th)with daytime TTLs on Tues/Wed/Thurs.

The following diversion routes will be in place during the overnight road closures:

  • Northbound traffic will take the A91 at the Melville Lodges Roundabout towards Cupar. Traffic will continue through Cupar, then at the Guardbridge Roundabout take the first exit onto the A919 north and continue onto the A914 at St Michael’s to rejoin the A92 at the Forgan Roundabout.

  • Southbound traffic will take the A914 south at the Forgan Roundabout and join the A919 at St Michael’s, continuing to Guardbridge. Traffic will take the second exit at the Guardbridge Roundabout onto the A91 towards Cupar, continuing on the A91 through Cupar and rejoining the A92 at the Melville Lodges Roundabout.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
